Omnicom appoints Andrew Robertson as CEO of Omnicom Advertising

Omnicom has appointed Andrew Robertson as the new Chief Executive Officer of Omnicom Advertising, effective immediately. Robertson, formerly the chairman of BBDO Worldwide, succeeds Troy Ruhanen, who is retiring after more than 20 years in leadership roles within the group.

The leadership transition follows the integration of Omnicom Advertising following the combination of Omnicom and Interpublic. Ruhanen played a central role in consolidating the advertising operations under a unified structure while maintaining individual agency identities.

Omnicom Chairman and CEO John Wren noted that Robertson’s expertise will be vital as the group expands its use of technology and artificial intelligence. The change occurs as the advertising division reports recent client acquisitions, including Subway, American Express, and BBVA.
