Omocoro editor-in-chief Mikunoshin outlines new vision for media outlet
Mikunoshin, the new editor-in-chief of the Japanese web media outlet Omocoro, has outlined his vision for the platform following the retirement of the previous editor, Harajuku. Describing the current phase as a “sowing period,” Mikunoshin aims to build a foundation that allows the site’s unique writers to gain broader recognition and financial stability.
To support the creative staff, the editorial team is increasing its involvement in proposing projects to writers, moving beyond the traditional model where writers handle everything from planning to execution. The leadership also emphasizes maintaining strong connections with writers to foster a sense of community. Additionally, Omocoro has expanded its reach through the launch of Omocoro Publishing.
In a separate feature from Omocoro Bros, writers and manga artists have provided recommendations for manga series that can be completed within five volumes. Suggested titles include ‘Kasumi Den’ by Naoki Karasawa, ‘Mu-tachi’ by Shunji Enomoto, ‘Himizu’ by Minoru Furuya, and ‘Gerexis’ by Minoru Furuya.
