Omoriyama Zoo to host nighttime events in August

Omoriyama Zoo in Akita City will host its annual "Night Zoo" event in August 2026. The special evening operations are scheduled for August 11, 12, and from August 14 to 16.

During these sessions, the zoo will operate from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, allowing visitors to observe animal behaviors and enjoy illuminated grounds that differ from daytime views. A special event celebrating "World Lion Day" is planned for August 11, featuring a "special lion feeding time" at 6:30 PM. Admission for adults is 1,000 yen, while high school students and younger enter for free.
