Omoyele Sowore accuses Tinubu of N400 m bribery and vows education reforms

Activist and African Action Congress presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has renewed accusations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, alleging they were involved in a ₦400 million bribery scheme linked to a disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. Sowore described the alleged fraud as evidence of a broader syndicate within the Tinubu administration, while the presidency dismissed the claim as a smear and said the primary accuser faces forgery charges.

Separately, Sowore outlined policy pledges for his prospective administration, promising to abolish the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and replace the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with a voluntary two‑year National Job Corps that would provide employment, skills training and pathways to permanent careers. He argued that Nigeria’s youth need opportunities rather than compulsory schemes.

Both statements are part of Sowore’s broader campaign platform ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming elections.
