Omroep Brabant celebrates 50th anniversary with province-wide events

Regional broadcaster Omroep Brabant will celebrate its 50th anniversary on September 1, 2026. To mark the milestone, the station has planned a series of events across the province, including a ‘worstenbroodjes route’ where staff will distribute free sausage rolls at various locations such as Eindhoven Airport, Tilburg, Breda, and Den Bosch.

Some sausage rolls will contain a ‘golden wrapper,’ which entitles the recipient to tickets for a jubilee concert featuring artists from Brabant in November. Other anniversary activities include a search for residents born on the same day as the broadcaster, a special ‘Top 1976’ music chart, and the publication of a jubilee book by journalist Tom van den Oetelaar.

In the autumn, the broadcaster will host a reunion for former employees and a public open day on November 7, allowing people to see how radio, television, and online news are produced.
