Omron and NTT Docomo Business partner for manufacturing cybersecurity

Omron and NTT Docomo Business have entered a collaboration to provide integrated OT/IT security solutions for manufacturing environments. The partnership aims to address rising security risks, such as unauthorized access and malware, caused by the increasing connectivity between IT and OT networks.

The collaboration focuses on risk visualization, implementation of countermeasures, monitoring, operations, and education. A key technical component involves embedding OsecT unauthorized communication detection sensor functions into Omron's controller products. This will allow for the visualization of device configuration information for sensors and drives that are typically difficult to monitor via the network, enabling centralized management on factory networks.

Looking ahead, the companies plan to expand services using NTT Group's OT security solutions starting in October 2026, with potential global support through international bases within the same year. They also intend to explore the implementation of NTT Group research, including data sandbox and AI agent technologies, beginning in 2027.
