OMRON Healthcare Indonesia promotes early detection of cardiovascular risks
In anticipation of World Heart Day on September 29, 2026, OMRON Healthcare Indonesia is launching the ‘Keep On, Life On’ campaign to increase public awareness regarding cardiovascular disease risks, specifically hypertension, atrial fibrillation (AFib), and stroke.
Data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI) highlights a significant gap in hypertension awareness. While blood pressure measurements showed a prevalence of 30.8% among adults aged 18 and older, only 8.6% had been diagnosed by a doctor. This discrepancy suggests many individuals remain unaware of their hypertensive status.
Tomoaki Watanabe, Director of OMRON Healthcare Indonesia, emphasized the importance of proactive health monitoring and lifestyle changes rather than waiting for symptoms to appear. Medical experts note that hypertension often presents without symptoms but serves as a major risk factor for serious complications like heart disease and stroke.
