OMS Group begins construction of CS Resilience cable-laying vessel

OMS Group has reached a major milestone in the construction of its next-generation cable-laying vessel, CS Resilience, with the keel laying ceremony held at CRIST Shipyard in Gdynia, Poland, on September 17, 2026.

The 130-meter vessel is the first of two being built to the ULSTEIN SX252 design for the Group’s GREAT-Class fleet. The CS Resilience is purpose-built for complex subsea projects, featuring capabilities for cable installation, maintenance, ROV-supported operations, and subsea cable burial of up to three meters.

Following the hull assembly at CRIST Shipyard, the vessel will be transferred to Ulstein Verft in Norway for outfitting, systems integration, and commissioning. Scheduled to enter service in 2028, the vessel aims to expand OMS Group’s capacity for submarine cable networks and digital infrastructure across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
