Omunchy released as lightweight tiling Wayland clone of Omarchy

A new lightweight Linux setup called Omunchy has been released as a functional clone of the Omarchy project. Designed for older hardware such as Chromebooks, Omunchy utilizes a keyboard-driven tiling Wayland environment. It is built on the ArchBang base and features the MangoWC compositor, Waybar, Rofi, and Mako. The setup includes a superfile file manager and optional AI tool integration via Opencode.

In a related discussion regarding workflow customization, users are exploring ways to implement Omarchy-style keyboard-first workflows on existing operating systems like Linux Mint. This approach focuses on adopting specific tiling and workspace shortcuts—such as Super + 1–9 for workspace switching—to achieve a minimal mouse-usage experience without replacing an entire desktop environment.
