OMV Petrom CEO Christina Verchere to step down after current mandate

Christina Verchere, CEO and President of the Executive Board of OMV Petrom, has announced she will not seek a new mandate following the expiration of her current term. Her mandate is scheduled to run until April 16, 2027.

Verchere stated she remains committed to delivering strategic projects for the remainder of her term, noting that the company has moved from ambition to execution under its Strategy 2030. Emma Delaney, President of the Supervisory Board, credited Verchere with leading a transformation and playing a leading role in Romania's energy transition.

Separately, Transgaz Director Ion Sterian met with OMV board members and Austrian Federal Minister for Economy, Energy, and Tourism Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer at the ADIPEC conference in Abu Dhabi. During the meeting, Sterian presented the Neptun Deep project, an offshore energy investment in Romania expected to begin gas extraction in early 2027. The project aims to provide approximately 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually at maximum capacity.
