Once Human announces Isles of Abyss expansion for October 22

NetEase Games and Starry Studio have announced the Isles of Abyss, a major free expansion for the survival game Once Human. The update is scheduled for global release on October 22.

This expansion introduces five new maritime regions, expanding the game world into the ocean. Players will encounter new survival mechanics, including exploration of the sea surface, islands, and underwater areas. The update features the Sunken Lord, an entity that makes the environment itself a threat through predatory lighthouses and disguised living islands.

A significant addition is the ship construction and customization system. Players can build and upgrade vessels ranging from small boats to mobile sea fortresses that serve as moving bases, workshops, and combat platforms. The expansion will support cross-play and cross-progression across PC, mobile, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
