Onconic Therapeutics to debut new obesity drug candidate at ObesityWeek 2026

Onconic Therapeutics has announced that its new obesity drug candidate has been selected for an oral presentation at ObesityWeek 2026, a major global academic conference held in Washington, D.C., this November.

The selection follows a rigorous review process by The Obesity Society (TOS), which evaluates research based on significance, novelty, methodology, results, and conclusions. The company utilized its internal AI-based analysis and screening system to validate the efficacy of this new candidate, which is intended to follow its previous successes with Jaquvo and Nesupalib.

Due to the conference's embargo policy, the specific pipeline name and detailed research data remain undisclosed. Onconic Therapeutics plans to release information sequentially as the conference approaches. This move comes as the global obesity treatment market is projected by IQVIA to grow from approximately $66 billion in 2025 to $92 billion in 2026.
