Onda and Castelló implement local business and social policy changes

The Onda City Council has approved a 172,800 euro mentorship program designed to support local commerce. Spanning three years, the initiative aims to facilitate the creation of new businesses and assist with generational succession in local shops. The project may receive co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Additionally, the council accepted over 15,000 euros in subsidies from the Castellón Provincial Tourism Board to support municipal tourism strategies, including gastronomic events and information services.

In Castelló, the Socialist Municipal Group (PSOE) has criticized the local government for failing to apply for 2025 grants from the National Drug Plan. These Ministry of Health subsidies, which were distributed among 42 Spanish municipalities, are intended to fund drug prevention programs and alternative leisure activities for youth. The PSOE is seeking explanations from the local administration regarding the decision to forgo these funds, which have benefited cities such as Getafe, Alcorcón, and Valencia.
