Onda Cero and WWF honor Spanish sustainability projects at LUZ VERDE awards

The second edition of the LUZ VERDE awards was held at the Real Jardín Botánico‑CSIC in Spain. Organized by Onda Cero and WWF, the ceremony was hosted by Roberto Brasero and attended by officials such as the Secretary of State for the Environment Hugo Morán, Atresmedia CEO Javier Bardají, and Onda Cero director Ramón Osorio.

Six initiatives were recognized across three categories—land, water and air. Winners included Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera’s “Bio For Piri” forest bio‑economy project, AEMS Ríos con Vida’s river‑custody programme, the self‑sufficient Bodega Bosque de Matasnos winery, the Red Alimenta food‑waste network, the Toledo swifts conservation network, and a special mention for Legarda’s community climate‑adaptation plan. The awards, symbolised by trophies made from recycled material, aim to showcase projects that advance Spain’s ecological transition and foster collaboration between institutions, companies and citizens.
