Onda lifts partial fire confinement, keeps New Onda sealed

The Integrated Operational Coordination Center (CECOPI) authorized a partial lifting of the preventive confinement for the municipality of Onda, Spain, effective at midnight. While most public buildings, municipal services and commercial activity will reopen the following morning, the Urbanización Nueva Onda remains under confinement on the recommendation of firefighters, and the nearby pedanía of Artesa stays evacuated for safety.

Mayor Carmina Ballester urged residents to remain vigilant, warning that the wildfire is still active and that people must not approach the burning area. She also affirmed Onda’s willingness to assist neighboring communities still affected by the fire, emphasizing solidarity and continued support.
