Onde'l Pala restaurant enters Premios Fuego 2026 competition

The restaurant Onde'l Pala, a historic establishment in Chillán founded in 1967, has been officially entered into the Premios Fuego 2026 competition. The restaurant is competing in the Regional Gastronomic Identity category, which recognizes culinary spaces that promote cultural identity and tourism development.

Originally established as a small chichería by José Waldemar Palavecino, the venue has evolved into a center for rural culture under the management of his descendants. Current administrator Rodrigo Palavecino Llanos seeks national recognition for the establishment, which is known for traditional dishes such as costillar and empanadas.

Mayor Camilo Benavente has expressed support for the candidacy. Public voting for the awards is scheduled to take place between August 31 and September 25 via the official competition website.
