Ondo Deputy Governor urges inmates to acquire vocational skills

Ondo State Deputy Governor Olayide Adelami has urged inmates at the Olokuta Medium Security Correctional Centre in Akure to acquire vocational and educational skills to ensure successful reintegration into society.

During a visit to the facility, which included the juvenile section, Adelami provided spiritual support, encouragement, and welfare assistance such as foodstuffs. He emphasized that inmates should use their time in custody to prepare for a productive future, stating that acquiring useful skills would prevent a gap between their release and their return to society.

Adelami, who also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prison Fellowship Nigeria, encouraged the inmates to strengthen their faith and view their current circumstances as an opportunity for reflection and transformation rather than a defining end to their lives.
