Ondo State distributes relief to 7,000 disaster victims

The Ondo State Government has launched a relief programme to provide materials and cash assistance to approximately 7,000 victims of natural and fire disasters across the state. The initiative aims to support residents whose homes, businesses, and livelihoods were impacted by events such as rainstorms and fire outbreaks.

Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA), Dr. Olayide Adelami, announced the distribution during a ceremony in Akure. The intervention includes traders affected by fire incidents at the Ore Market in August 2026. The programme covers several local government areas, including Ese-Odo, Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo, Owo, Akure South, Akoko South-West, Odigbo, Ilaje, and Okitipupa.
