Ondo State Governor announces welfare reforms for public servants

Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has called on public servants to prioritize accountability, professionalism, and innovation to ensure the state’s ‘OUR EASE’ agenda delivers measurable improvements to citizens. Speaking at the 2026 Public Service Week, the governor emphasized that the success of government policies depends on their tangible impact on residents rather than official pronouncements.

To support civil servants, the state government is considering several welfare interventions, including the provision of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mass transit buses to reduce transportation burdens. Additionally, the administration is exploring ways to address housing deficits by potentially developing low-cost housing estates for workers.

Other reported welfare measures include the Orange Health Insurance Scheme (ORANGHIS), which covers public servants and their dependents, and the clearing of gratuity arrears up to 2020. The governor reaffirmed his commitment to regular salary payments, timely promotions, and capacity development to ensure a motivated workforce.
