Ondo State launches AI platform for civil servant payroll and pensions
The Ondo State Government has launched ‘Ondo AI’, an artificial intelligence-powered digital platform designed to manage civil servants’ personnel records, payroll, retirement, and pension processes. Launched in Akure by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the system aims to replace manual, paper-based administration with an automated, centralized digital environment.
The platform provides authorized officials with real-time access to comprehensive employee data, including photographs, appointment details, promotion records, and academic qualifications. It is designed to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, improve decision-making, and enhance transparency. The system also includes an automated alert feature to notify the government when employees approach retirement age.
For civil servants, the platform offers a self-service function allowing them to access monthly payslips and personal information, such as the number of days remaining until retirement. This initiative follows the previous deployment of ‘Ondo Pay’, which has already facilitated the disbursement of N9.7 billion in pension and gratuity obligations to over 2,800 workers across various state services.
