Ondo State leaders urged to cooperate amid independence celebrations

In Ondo State, the PBAT Mandate Elders Forum has stated that the political structures supporting Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo can coexist to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027. Forum Chairman Demola Ijabiyi noted that separate political tendencies within the All Progressives Congress (APC) do not necessarily indicate division, provided they work toward the same electoral goals. He urged both leaders to use their respective influence to strengthen the party rather than engage in unhealthy rivalry.

Separately, Governor Aiyedatiwa marked Nigeria’s 66th Independence anniversary by calling for collective nation-building. During celebrations in Akure, he urged citizens to view national development as a shared responsibility between the government and the people, emphasizing the need for peace, unity, and patriotism.
