Ondo State principals call for increased school security
Secondary school principals in Ondo State, represented by the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), are calling on the state government to increase security personnel at schools. The group identified inadequate security as a primary challenge to protecting students, teachers, and school infrastructure.
In addition to security concerns, ANCOPSS President Aminu Olugbenga highlighted shortages in other essential roles, including laboratory attendants, library assistants, secretaries, and ICT teachers. While acknowledging recent government efforts to recruit teachers and rehabilitate schools under Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the group urged continued investment to address long-standing manpower gaps caused by attrition.
