Ondo State renames cultural centre after Olusegun Mimiko

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has renamed the Dome International Event and Cultural Centre to the Dr Olusegun Mimiko Cultural and Event Centre. The decision honors the former governor’s contributions to the state’s development, specifically in sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

The announcement was made during a celebration in Abuja marking Mimiko’s 72nd birthday. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo attended the event, praising Mimiko as the architect of modern Ondo State and highlighting his legacy of mentorship. Tunji-Ojo noted that Mimiko’s greatest achievement was the development of young leaders through guidance and support.

During the event, Mimiko addressed young professionals, urging them to prioritize personal development and capacity building before seeking leadership roles. He also commented on the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a significant tool for democratizing access to higher education.
