Ondrej Nepela Memorial: Skating results and film premiere

The Ondrej Nepela Memorial figure skating competition is currently underway, featuring top international talent. In the men's short program, Yevgeniy Semenenko leads with 101.16 points, followed by Italy's Daniel Grassl and Mikhail Shaidorov. Slovak skater Adam Hagara placed sixth after scoring 80.23 points, performing a program that included a triple flip-triple toe loop combination and a triple axel.

Separately, the film ‘Šampión’, which maps the life of legendary Slovak Olympic figure skating champion Ondrej Nepela, held a premiere in Bratislava. Actor Alexander Bárta, who participated in the production, discussed the filming process and the significance of Nepela, who won gold at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. The film's journey included a special preview at the CASA SLOVACA in Milan during the 2026 Winter Olympics period.
