One More Level announces $39.99 price for Valor Mortis

One More Level, the developers behind Ghostrunner, have announced that their upcoming first-person soulslike, Valor Mortis, will launch at a standard price of $39.99/€39.99 on October 13. The studio stated that while the game’s quality, fidelity, and 20-hour campaign are designed to compete with full-priced titles, the lower price point is a strategic response to a crowded autumn release schedule and high competition for consumer time and money.

In a departure from industry norms, the studio will not offer pre-orders, opting instead to let the completed version of the game demonstrate its quality to players at launch. A Deluxe Edition priced at $59.99/€59.99 has also been announced, which will include cosmetic packs and a major story DLC scheduled for release next year. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
