One More Level showcases gameplay for Valor Mortis

One More Level, the developers behind the Ghostrunner series, has showcased gameplay for their upcoming first-person soulslike title, Valor Mortis. During a hands-on session at the studio’s Krakow office, the game demonstrated a blend of genre fundamentals with high movement fluidity and responsiveness.

Set in a world where Napoleon’s army has been transformed into mindless mutants, the game features a protagonist named William. The narrative includes a voice performance by Vincent Cassel, portraying the Emperor speaking within William’s mind. The gameplay incorporates elements of body horror and exploration, with environments including ruined bridges, cave systems, military camps, and abandoned quarries.

The combat system utilizes stamina bars, parrying, posture mechanics, executions, and dodges, alongside melee weapons, pistols, and supernatural abilities. Valor Mortis is intended to be a compact experience with an estimated playtime of 15 to 20 hours. Specific release dates and platforms have not yet been confirmed.
