One Piece franchise announces new anime and live-action projects

The One Piece franchise, based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, is expanding its multimedia presence through several upcoming anime and live-action projects.

Toei Animation is adjusting its production schedule for the long-running anime series. Moving forward, the studio plans to limit output to a maximum of 26 episodes per year, organized into two-course seasons, rather than the previous weekly release format.

Additionally, Wit Studio is developing an ambitious remake of the series for Netflix. This project aims to modernize the beginning of the story with episodes approximately 40 minutes in length. Netflix also continues to develop its live-action adaptation of the franchise.
