One Piece franchise expands through media and card game updates

The One Piece franchise, created by Eiichiro Oda, continues to expand through various media including manga, anime, and live-action adaptations. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Sanji, whose distinct personalities and ambitions have sustained global interest since 1997.

Beyond the core story, the franchise includes diverse projects such as the Netflix live-action series, which is expected to adapt the Alabasta arc, and a LEGO One Piece special scheduled for 2026. Additionally, the One Piece Card Game by Bandai remains a significant part of the ecosystem. The game recently announced an update to its banlist, effective October 12, 2026, which includes the prohibition of the Dracule Mihawk card (version OP14-02) to maintain competitive balance in tournaments.
