ONE POT WONDER launches retort-style mountain meal series
ONE POT WONDER has introduced its ‘Zesshin Sanchomeshi’ (Exquisite Mountain Meal) series, a line of retort-style foods specifically designed for consumption at mountain summits. The products are engineered to be eaten without the need for fire, boiling water, or burners.
To prepare the meals, users simply add water to the included alpha rice and wait approximately one hour. The series includes three varieties: Sancho Khao Man Gai, Sancho Clam Chowder, and Sancho Salmon. The Khao Man Gai features chicken breast cooked under high pressure and vacuum with ginger and garlic, designed to remain tender even when eaten cold.
The meals are priced between 1,200 and 1,500 yen (including tax) and have a shelf life of six months. Due to their ease of preparation and lack of required heat, they are noted as suitable for camping and as part of a ‘rolling stock’ strategy for emergency food supplies during power outages. The products are available through the ONE POT WONDER official online store and at the Hottarakashi Campground in Yamanashi Prefecture.
