OnePlus 16 leaks suggest ultra-slim bezels and 165Hz refresh rate

Leaks regarding the upcoming OnePlus 16 suggest the flagship smartphone will feature ultra-slim bezels on all four sides of the screen. The device is reportedly expected to include an industry-first 165Hz system-wide refresh rate, allowing for high-speed animations and scrolling across the entire operating system rather than being limited to specific gaming applications.

The device is rumored to run ColorOS 17 and utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. While an official launch timeline has not been confirmed, reports indicate a potential debut in China this October.

Separately, OPPO has released an August update for ColorOS 16. The update introduces several new features, including a two-finger pinch gesture to clear notification badges, the ability to doodle directly on images within the Notes app, and real-time currency conversion widgets for the home screen. The update also includes an AI Remix Collage tool for photo layouts and enhanced background protection via the Phone Manager to block suspicious app behavior.
