OnePlus halts new smartphone launches in Europe and North America

OnePlus announced that it will no longer introduce new smartphones, tablets, smartwatches or earbuds in Europe and North America. The decision follows a strategic review by parent company Oppo/BBK Electronics, which aims to concentrate resources on markets such as China and India amid tightening margins, chip‑price spikes and a slowdown in Western demand. The company said existing owners will keep receiving warranty service, software updates and security patches for the lifespan of their devices, and that the OxygenOS interface will gradually be replaced by Oppo’s ColorOS. The last flagship model slated for these regions is the OnePlus 15. Reports also indicate that a broader pull‑back could extend to India by 2027. “After an in‑depth evaluation, OnePlus decided to stop marketing new products in Europe and North America,” the firm said in its statement. The move marks the end of more than a decade of OnePlus presence in Western markets while the brand continues to operate in Asia.
