OnePlus may skip India launch of flagship OnePlus 16

Reports suggest that OnePlus may skip the launch of its flagship OnePlus 16 in India, opting instead to introduce the OnePlus 16R as the brand’s primary high-end offering in the country.

According to industry rumors, the OnePlus 16R would likely feature a different chipset than the main flagship, potentially utilizing a non-Elite Snapdragon processor. This move follows OnePlus’ recent withdrawal from European and North American markets, signaling a strategic shift to focus more heavily on China and India.

In the Indian market, the brand is expected to supplement its lineup with the Nord series for the mid-range segment and the N series for entry-level devices. While the OnePlus 16 is rumored to feature high-end specifications such as a 200 MP camera and a 9,000 mAh battery, these features may remain exclusive to the Chinese market.
