OnePlus to Exit US and European Markets amid Oppo restructuring
OnePlus has officially confirmed that it will cease launching new smartphones in the United States and Europe, ending its presence in those regions as early as this week. The brand will continue to honor warranty, after‑sales support and software updates for existing devices, but future updates will shift from OxygenOS to Oppo’s ColorOS platform.
The move is part of a broader global restructuring by parent company Oppo, which aims to concentrate OnePlus operations on the Chinese market while expanding its other sub‑brand Realme in overseas territories. Realme will stop introducing new products in China and focus on international markets, particularly the Nordic region, where it has performed well. Reports also suggest that OnePlus may eventually exit India by 2027, though no official confirmation has been given.
Oppo’s strategy reflects mounting financial pressure in the smartphone sector, higher component costs, weaker demand in western markets and geopolitical challenges for Chinese brands. The withdrawal reshapes the competitive landscape for Android flagship‑killer phones in the West, leaving only Oppo and Realme as the remaining Oppo‑group players in those markets.
