OnePlus transitions to ColorOS 17 with Android 17 rollout

OnePlus has officially begun the transition from its proprietary OxygenOS to OPPO’s ColorOS, starting with the rollout of ColorOS 17 based on Android 17. The update is being deployed to the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4.

While the official schedule initially pointed to an October 29 start date, the stable version has begun appearing earlier than expected. The initial deployment has been detected in India and select markets, with the rollout proceeding in phases. Users upgrading from beta versions will receive a download of approximately 500 MB, while those on previous stable versions will face a larger download of roughly 3.4 to 3.5 GB.

The shift to ColorOS aligns with the shared software strategy between OnePlus and OPPO, as evidenced by similar updates appearing on the OPPO Find X9. The new software focuses on AI integration, with the company stating the goal is to make technology feel more effortless through a “Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere” approach.
