Onești Hosts Adi Răspopa Memorial Rally and Drift Show on Aug 8

Onești will hold the "Speed and Spirit Show – Memorial Adi Răspopa" on Saturday, 8 August. The event transforms Boulevard Oituz into a 2.6‑km rally and drift circuit where dozens of top drivers will compete and perform demonstrations in memory of rally driver Adrian Răspopa and his wife Luiza, who continued his projects after his death. Organized by the Onești City Hall, the program runs from early morning until the evening award ceremony, featuring press briefings, track reconnaissance, multiple rally and drift sessions, stunt‑riding displays, and a final prize‑giving ceremony.

Adrian Răspopa, dubbed the "Colin McRae of Romania," was a celebrated rally driver and organizer, honoured as an honorary citizen of Onești and post‑humously awarded the title of Master of Sport by the Romanian Motor Sport Federation. The memorial aims to celebrate his contribution to Romanian motorsport and to thank the community that continues to support his legacy.
