Ongjin County implements island safety, health, and community initiatives

Ongjin County is implementing various administrative and infrastructure projects to improve the quality of life for residents in its island regions. The county recently completed a 6 billion won project in Deokjeok-myeon to prevent seawater intrusion on coastal roads, protecting residents' property and ensuring safe passage.

In Yeonpyeong-myeon, the county held the 53rd Ongjin County Residents' Day sports event to promote community unity. During the event, County Governor Jang Jeong-min inspected local infrastructure projects, including the Daeyeonpyeong public sewage construction, and participated in safety demonstrations.

To address medical shortages in island areas, Ongjin County signed a memorandum of understanding with the Marine Corps Yeonpyeong Unit. This agreement strengthens the medical support system, allowing residents to continue utilizing the military's ‘Gongnyong Clinic’ to improve healthcare accessibility and prevent medical gaps in the region.
