Ongjin County expands home medical services for elderly residents

Ongjin County Health Center has conducted its first home visits for long-term care recipients in Baengnyeong-myeon as part of a pilot home medical center project. The initiative targets individuals with mobility issues who face difficulties visiting medical institutions due to illness, frailty, or disability.

A multidisciplinary team, including doctors from Incheon Medical Center's Baengnyeong Hospital alongside nurses and social workers from the Ongjin County Health Center, performed comprehensive evaluations. These assessments covered health status, medication, physical function, nutrition, and living environments to establish customized care plans.

Following the visits, integrated case meetings were held to coordinate medical, nursing, and welfare resources. This collaborative model, which connects public health centers with local medical institutions, is unique to the Incheon region. The service area was recently expanded to include Baengnyeong and Daecheong areas following an agreement with Incheon Medical Center in July.
