Ongjin County promotes Hometown Love Donation Program during Chuseok

Ongjin County conducted a promotional campaign for the ‘Hometown Love Donation Program’ at the Incheon Coastal Passenger Terminal during the Chuseok holiday. Held in collaboration with the NH Nonghyup Bank Ongjin County branch, the event targeted returning residents and tourists to explain the program's purpose and benefits.

The program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million KRW annually to local governments other than their registered place of residence. Donors receive tax credits—full credit for up to 100,000 KRW, with varying rates for amounts exceeding that threshold—and can receive local specialties, such as rice and seaweed, valued at up to 30% of the donation amount.

Ongjin County plans to use the collected funds for community welfare and regional revitalization projects. These include supporting soldiers in the West Sea islands, providing scholarships for local students, visiting seniors in public nursing homes, and supporting village-run shops.
