Ongwe Minerals identifies 6 km gold anomaly in Namibia

Canadian mining company Ongwe Minerals has identified a 6 km gold anomaly at the Omatjete project in Namibia. This discovery at the Nguni target, located within the Okondeka fault zone, suggests the potential for a large-scale mineralization system.

Recent soil sampling results showed significant increases in gold concentrations. Out of 1,605 samples collected, 50 recorded levels above 300 parts per billion (ppb), with a peak value of 1,310 ppb—nearly double the previous high of 730 ppb. The anomaly appears to extend beyond the current 6 km zone to the north, east, and west.

In August, Ongwe Minerals plans to launch its first large-scale drilling campaign at Nguni. The program will consist of 5,000 meters of diamond and reverse circulation (RC) drilling to determine if the surface gold anomaly extends into deeper geological structures.
