Ongwe Minerals to launch drilling after gold discovery in Namibia

Ongwe Minerals has announced a significant gold discovery at the Nguni prospect within its Omatjete Gold Project in Namibia. Extensive soil sampling has identified a continuous 6km strike length with gold mineralization, including peak grades reaching 1,310 ppb Au.

The company plans to launch a 5,000-meter diamond drilling program by late August to test the economic viability and ore potential of the site. This initial phase will utilize one drill rig to target core areas of the gold-in-soil anomaly.

Located in the Northwest Damara gold belt near the Okondeka fault zone, the discovery is viewed as a potential driver for Namibian economic growth, potentially diversifying the nation's mining sector beyond its traditional reliance on diamonds.
