Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair celebrates 25 years

The 25th edition of the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF) is scheduled to take place in northern Namibia from August 21 to 29, 2026. Operating under the theme “A Resilient, Inclusive and Sustainable Economy,” the event aims to promote economic growth, entrepreneurship, and regional trade.

The upcoming fair will feature 475 exhibitors, including 36 international participants from countries such as South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Angola, and Botswana. Highlights of the program include an inaugural marathon on August 22, a fireworks display, and an official opening ceremony by Namibian President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on August 23.

To ensure safety, organizers have recruited 114 professional security personnel and established a 24-hour police satellite charge office on-site, supported by CCTV surveillance.

Reflecting on the fair's 25-year history, partners like the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation have highlighted its role in nation-building and providing a platform for local and international businesses to network and benchmark against industry standards.
