Onivia and Colt partner to expand fiber connectivity in Spain

Onivia, an independent wholesale fiber operator, and Colt Technology Services have signed a strategic agreement to enhance digital connectivity across Spain. Under the deal, Colt will utilize Onivia’s unequipped fiber network, commonly referred to as dark fiber, to expand and strengthen its connections throughout the country.

The alliance covers access connections across approximately 900 Spanish municipalities, including provincial capitals and medium-sized towns. This infrastructure allows Colt to expand its network while maintaining full control over its design and operation, helping to meet the rising demand from enterprises, service providers, data centers, and cloud systems, particularly amid the growth of artificial intelligence.

For Onivia, the agreement advances its business services strategy and reinforces its position as a leading independent wholesale network in Spain. The partnership aims to address telecommunications market demands driven by cloud computing and new technologies by providing a scalable, neutral wholesale model.
