Online Journalism Awards announce 2026 finalists and award recipient

The Online News Association (ONA) has announced the finalists for the 2026 Online Journalism Awards. Among the honorees is José Zamora, who will receive the Rich Jaroslovsky Founder Award. The award recognizes Zamora for his long-term contributions to digital journalism and his work in creating space for Latino voices in the industry. His career includes leadership roles at the Committee to Protect Journalists, Univision News, and the Knight Foundation.

Additionally, an investigative report conducted by elDiario.es and Univision N+ regarding sexual assault allegations against Julio Iglesias has been named a finalist in two categories: Digital Video Storytelling (Long Form) and Feature (Small Newsroom). The investigation, which was released in January 2026, competes alongside major international outlets such as the BBC, NBC, and ProPublica.
