Only Fools and Horses memorabilia van set for auction

An iconic yellow Reliant Regal Supervan III used in the early series of the BBC sitcom ‘Only Fools and Horses’ is scheduled for auction in Birmingham. The vehicle, bearing the registration APL 911H, is expected to fetch up to £40,000.

The 1969/1972 three-wheeled van, emblazoned with ‘Trotters Independent Trading Co’ on the side, is noted for its historical significance as the only one of its kind used in every one of the 13 episodes broadcast between 1981 and 1982. The Reliant Motor Club has confirmed its appearance in the show’s debut episode, ‘Big Brother’.

Previously held in a private collection, the van has undergone restoration including mechanical updates to the fuel system, battery, and brake cylinders. The auction will also include other memorabilia from the series, such as a novelty £6.2 million cheque addressed to D Trotter and R Trotter.
