Only Fools and Horses unseen footage released for anniversary

To mark the 45th anniversary of the sitcom ‘Only Fools and Horses’, previously unseen footage has been released ahead of a new documentary series titled ‘Only Fools and Horses: The Lost Archive’. The programme is scheduled to air in October on U&Gold across two one-hour episodes.

The unearthed material includes scenes that were omitted from original broadcasts due to timing or structural constraints. Notable footage includes sequences from the 1989 Christmas special, ‘The Jolly Boys’ Outing’, featuring characters Del Boy, Rodney, and Boycie. Other newly revealed moments include Rodney playing football and Del Boy and Marlene conversing in the market.

Sir David Jason, who played the lead character Del Boy, expressed excitement about the release, stating that the audience will find the previously unrecorded film ‘very exciting and very interesting’. The documentary will feature interviews with Jason and other cast members, including Tessa Peake Jones, Gwyneth Strong, and Sue Holderness, to provide insight into the vision of the show’s creator, John Sullivan.
