Only Murders in the Building writers' room moving to New York

The production of the Hulu series ‘Only Murders in the Building’ is undergoing a significant logistical shift. While an official renewal for a seventh season has not yet been announced, the show’s writers’ room is reportedly relocating from Los Angeles to New York to prepare for a potential seventh installment.

This move, led by showrunner John Hoffman, aims to facilitate simultaneous writing and filming to maintain the series’ yearly release cadence. The decision follows the complex production of the sixth season, which was filmed in London and wrapped in late August. By basing the writing team in New York, Hoffman can manage both creative and production responsibilities in the same city, which is expected to be the setting for the upcoming season.

The series remains a flagship title for Hulu, recently receiving five Emmy nominations. Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on December 8.
