Onnera Group considers exit from Fagor Group

Onnera Group, a Guipuzcoan cooperative formerly known as Fagor Industrial, has begun internal discussions regarding a potential exit from the Fagor Group. While the move would separate it from Fagor, the cooperative would maintain its membership within the Mondragón Corporation.

The decision is expected to be put to a vote by approximately 430 partners in an upcoming assembly. Onnera Group is a significant component of the Fagor Group, employing nearly 2,400 people across seven manufacturing plants and ten global delegations. The company specializes in equipment for hospitality, collective catering, industrial laundry, and commercial refrigeration.

A departure by Onnera Group would represent a major shift for the Fagor Group, which is the largest industrial cooperative group in the Basque Country. Fagor Group consists of nine cooperatives across various sectors, including aeronautics, automotive, and energy, and employs more than 10,000 people globally.
