Onosato maintains solo lead in Autumn Sumo Tournament

In the ongoing Autumn Sumo Tournament at Ryogoku Kokugikan, Yokozuna Onosato maintains his solo lead with 11 wins and only 1 loss. He secured his position by defeating Atamifuji using a ‘shitade-nage’ technique, overcoming a recent losing streak against this opponent.

Asanoyama remains in contention for the championship, holding 9 wins and 3 losses after defeating Minoumi. He is currently trailing Onosato by two wins. Meanwhile, Atamifuji, who is seeking promotion to Ozeki, has fallen to 3 losses following his defeat by Onosato.

Other notable results include Aonishiki securing a winning record (kachi-koshi) with 8 wins and 3 losses, keeping him within striking distance of the leaders. Eiseki, a British-born wrestler, finished his first professional tournament with a 4-3 record, despite facing online comparisons to actor Leonardo DiCaprio, which he denied.
