ONP issues fraud prevention guidance for Peruvian pensioners

The Oficina de Normalización Previsional (ONP) in Peru, in collaboration with the Jurado Nacional de Elecciones (JNE), has launched an initiative to protect pensioners from fraudulent activities. During a session held in Cusco, officials provided guidance to help retirees identify misinformation and prevent scams related to bonuses, benefits, and administrative procedures.

Key recommendations for affiliates include verifying all information regarding supposed bonuses through official ONP channels and refusing to share personal data with unverified sources. The authorities warned against paying for supposed procedures without prior consultation and advised against clicking on suspicious links or providing confidential information via unsolicited messages.
