Ontario municipal elections see Olivia Chow re-elected in Toronto

In the 2026 Ontario municipal elections, Olivia Chow secured re-election as the Mayor of Toronto, defeating challenger and city councillor Brad Bradford. Chow, who first took office following a 2023 by-election, maintained a commanding lead, with unofficial results showing her receiving over 50 per cent of the vote.

Other notable results across Ontario included Conny Glenn unseating incumbent Bryan Paterson in Kingston, and Pat Chiocchio winning a narrow victory in Welland. In Hamilton, Keanin Loomis defeated incumbent Andrea Horwath. In Port Hope, Todd Attridge was elected mayor, defeating incumbent Olena Hankivsky.

In Toronto, several council seats saw changes, including former federal MP Nate Erskine-Smith winning the Beaches–East York ward. The elections across the province highlighted key voter concerns regarding housing affordability, public safety, and municipal spending.
